In 2009 FILA renewed its efforts with Giotto in favour of theWe re-write the future campaign promoted by Save the Children. During the International Conference " Where Peace Begins - The Pivotal Role of Education for Lasting Peace" held in Sarajevo from March 11 - 12, organized by Save the Children and the Norwegian Government, in association with the Government of Bosnia Herzegovina, FILA distributed and sent about 100 Large Red Pencils that were used to sign Save the Children's open letter on the fundamental role of education in the reconstruction and return to normality of a post-war nation. One of the Nobel prize winners who participated in the event was Martti Ahtisaari who joined 31 others including Desmond Tutu, the Dalai lama, Jimmy Carter, Shirin Ebadi, Aung San Suu Kyi, Wangari Maathai, Rigoberta Menchú and Mairead Corrigan Maguire.

FILA firmly believes that the world can learn through the eyes of children and should listen to their requests and perceive their needs to improve and grow together, offering them improved conditions. Starting from education, considering the school as a place where all other rights such as safety, nutrition and playtime are guaranteed. Thus motivated, FILA was one of the first Italian companies to adhere to the We re-write the future campaign with the Giotto brand, creating a special Red Pencil which became the symbol of the initiative and used to promote and spread the project.

We re-write the Future is the global campaign launched in the fall of 2006 by Save the Children, the largest independent international organisation for the defence and promotion of children's rights..The campaign aims to ensure the fundamental right to quality education to the 8 million children who live in countries at war or post-war countries by 2010.

Save the Children has asked people and corporations throughout the world to support the global challenge to adequately educate millions of children while inviting international politicians to provide clear answers to the problems on the right to education and other fundamental rights, often denied. The initiative is currently in operations in all the countries in the world where the association has offices.
